A 53-year-old man on Humphries Street called police and said someone has a key to his home, and has changed his VCR for another VCR -- which was the same model, but with a different item inside the VCR player. He thinks his family has something to do with it, but isn't sure.

On Whiteford Avenue, a 40-year-old man said an unknown woman knocked on his front door. The woman had no teeth. She wore a white shirt, but no other clothing. She walked into his bedroom and lay down. The man called police, who found the woman sleeping on his bed. The officer called medical workers, who awoke the woman and examined her. The woman said she was OK and wanted to walk home. The officer found sleeping pills on the bedroom floor, but the man said they belonged to him. According to the report, the woman "was given a pair of pants and was allowed to walk home."

A muscular 45-year-old mechanic from Snellville said he called a man, inquiring when the man would return to work to finish the jobs they had started. The man, in his late 30s and weighing 250 pounds, had been injured on the job. The man inquired about insurance coverage for some stitches he received from the injury. The 45-year-old said he doesn't have health insurance for employees to cover the injury. According to the 45-year-old, the man replied, "This isn't over and something's going to get done about it." The 45-year-old then reported the call to police, saying he felt threatened because the man is an ex-wrestler.

At 10:10 p.m., an officer found an unresponsive naked woman in a white Toyota Supra parked on Metropolitan Parkway. Medical workers arrived and revived the woman, who said she had not been raped and she put herself in the car to sleep.

A pastor said someone sprayed a fire extinguisher into his apartment on Mercer Street, ripped a door off its hinges and stole some frozen dinners.

A 74-year-old man on Bixby Street said between 6 and 6:30 p.m., he let a woman into his home because it was raining and he had seen her in the neighborhood. He didn't know the woman's name. The 74-year-old said he changed clothes while she was in the house. After she left, he said, he realized she had taken his shorts, which contained his wallet, keys, checkbook and $900-$1,000 cash in the pockets. He doesn't know the woman's name. She was wearing a black wrap-around shirt and tight blue jeans.

A police officer saw a '99 Chrysler Sebring traveling north on Peachtree Street in Midtown. The car didn't have a valid tag. He stopped the car and spoke with the driver, a 22-year-old man, who didn't have a license on him. Two other male passengers, age 22 and 18, were in the car. The officer asked each of the three men about the identity of the car's owner. The driver said the car belonged to the first passenger's uncle. But when the officer queried the first passenger, he said the car belonged to his girlfriend. The second passenger said he borrowed the car from a junkie a few weeks ago, and he hasn't seen the junkie since.

The officer ran a computer check on the car, which revealed that it was stolen out of DeKalb County. All three men went to jail.

A 27-year-old man said two men came to his apartment on Cleveland Avenue, pretending to be air-conditioning repairmen. One man grabbed some scissors from an end table and ordered the 27-year-old man's wife not to move. The second man ordered the couple into the bedroom. The men took $200 cash and two necklaces.

A 38-year-old man in an apartment on Ponce de Leon Avenue said his girlfriend got upset after he mentioned that some people at the bar were calling her dirty names because she was presenting herself to others in a sexual manner. He then picked up a plate to make some food. She grabbed the plate and threw it against a wall. The plate broke, and plate shards stuck in the boyfriend's legs, causing small cuts. He called police. The officer tried to talk to the girlfriend, who had missing teeth and was about 4 feet 8 inches tall. The officer noted, "... she would mumble and not cooperate with me. She acted like a child, pouting and getting angry." The officer had to physically restrain her. "I believe she will cause harm to the [boyfriend] again." She was taken to jail.

On Boulevard Lorraine Drive, a 29-year-old man said he had a dispute with his cousin over a cup. He said the cousin, age 20, got angry, picked up a lamp and struck his face twice with the lamp. The 29-year-old had a swollen eye and busted lip. The cousin was charged with battery and taken to jail.

At a home on Campbellton Road, a 43-year-old man and his dog walked into the front room. The dog started barking, so the 43-year-old looked up and saw an unknown man in a blue coat standing in the doorway with a sledgehammer in his hand. The 43-year-old told his dog to get the man. The man stood there for a second, then ran away. The 43-year-old then discovered that his car had been broken into as well.
