HOLLAND, Mich. - Memo to burglars: Don't take more than you can carry, unless
you've already planned your getaway.
Take a Michigan man, for example, who has been charged with second-degree home
invasion. Police say they tracked him down by tracing the taxicab he took to
make his getaway.
Police say the man, Rogelio Bueno, broke into a residence, taking a computer, a
television, a stereo, a Sony PlayStation and a couple of camcorders.
Officers say he then used the victim's phone to call himself a cab.
Cab driver Richard Hasty says the passenger explained it all away by saying he
was moving. He then asked to be dropped off at an alley.
Police got a valuable tip when a witness remembered seeing a taxi parked near
the victim's townhouse. Investigators checked the dispatch logs and arrested the
suspect at his home, where they found the loot.
